swatchin'

Hey guys,

This week ULTA was having a crazy awesome sale on Revlon, Almay, and NYX cosmetics--40% off BABY! holla.  I decided to be good and only bought a few Revlon and NYX lip products. Talk about self-control. but, i mean...let's be honest here: i'll probably go back before the week is up and snag a few more things.

Anyway, thought I'd share some swatches of the goods:

left to right: Blackberry (creme), VaVa Violet (creme), and Very Red (matte)
Randi says that she's never picked up Revlon lipsticks because they have "old lady" packaging. ha! it's pretty true.  They don't have the most attractive packaging, but they are some of my favorite lipsticks.  They are a great formulation, good pigmentation, and they retail for $6.99ish.

NYX Mega Shine Gloss in Plush Red and Natural
These NYX glosses are the shiz, guys. They are SO pigmented and have good staying power. I highly recommend running out grabbing a few of these while they are still 40% off. Dooo it!

Okay, that's all. Until next time! :)

Our first tutorial is UP!

So... we FINALLY have a tutorial up. And now that we have one, it is only a matter of time before we have a gazillion. Let me tell you, it is harder than it looks to film it, and edit it, and well, basically it's just harder than I thought it would be. So if you would like to see me do an everyday, easy to follow look then here you go.

As always, PLEASE...
watch it!

MyGlam Bag - February

I got my third MyGlam bag this week. If you aren't familiar with MyGlam, it is a subscription service (similiar to Birchbox) that sends you 4-5 deluxe beauty samples every month for the cost of $10. MyGlam is new, they just started in December. I signed up as soon as they launched and that first month they had an amazing bag. It had Urban Decay, Tarte, NYX... good bag! They haven't been quite that good since, but I still hold out hope that it will be again. It is so fun to anticipate what you may get this month and it is a great way to try new things you might never have known about. Oh and did I mention that everything comes in a cute makeup bag. Look at how adorable the pink with hearts bag was this month. Too cute!

So this is what I got this month: the cute pink with hearts bag, Freeman facial hydration mask, $100 gift code for NuMe hair tools, NYX roll-on shimmer, Dead Sea Premier mask, X Out Shine Control, and some Ghiradelli chocolates (YUM!).

For me, the dumbest thing in the bag is the gift certificate. When I checked out the website, it just doesn't seem like it is that great of a deal. Oh well. The Dead Sea mask... eh, don't think it's that exciting. I am however interested to try to the Shine Control lotion. It is made by the same people who make Proactiv. If it turns out to be amazing I'll be sure to let you know.

This was my favorite thing in the bag was this, the roll on shimmer. I'd seen my friend Deb do a YouTube video using the same thing and thought it looked intriguing, so I was excited to get my own. And I LOVE it! I got the pink one, perfect color for me! So easy to use, such a fun amount of shimmer.

On the left, just rolled on. On the right, blended out a little.

Rolled on top of my eye look today. I will be purchasing it in more colors. I mean they retail for like what, five dollars? Yeah, definitely getting more.

So if you like trying out a lot of new things, I recommend MyGlam and Birchbox. At the moment I'd say I prefer Birchbox, but MyGlam does have potential. I'll let you know what comes next month.
